NEWS Friday 05-03-2010 Gordon Brown, Labour Prime Minister of the UK, Finally Faces Chilcott Inquiry sAfter serious allegations of cost cutting the British defence budget, which has directly led to the deaths of ill equipped military personnel in both Iraq and Afghanistan, Gordon Brown will sit in front of the offical Chilcott Inquiry today. Under duress from opposition parties and after much prevaricating he only recently agreed to this after being cornered, in Parliament, by Nick Clegg the Liberal Democrat Leader. Another politician said "It is only right and proper that all those who played a role in taking the country to war give evidence before the general election. Whilst Mr Angus Robertson - the SNP's leader at Westminster stated "The Chilcot inquiry has heard that you were in the Iraq war inner circle and refused key payments for our troops on the front line.Will you confirm to the House that there is no impediment for you to seek a time to give evidence to the Chilcot inquiry?" For those of you reading this article who are not familiar with British politics, an election is imminent, and both Tony Blair (ex Prime Minister) and Gordon Brown (current unelected Prime Minister)are both accused, by many, for leading Britain illegally into the Iraq war, for which its troops were ill prepared and no strategy for peace was in place to prevent anarchy, once Saddam's forces and political machine were overwhelmed. They are also being held accountable for many deaths directly attributed to the lack of armoured vehicles designed to withstand IED blasts and attacks and a severe lack of helicopters to transport troops over, rather than through, dangerous terrain. I strongly suggest that before any British politicians from the main political parties or indeed senior military figures from any of the three services (Army, Navy, Airforce) who have, over the years, helped control the defense budget and who are currently laying the blame for military casualties on financial defence cuts, they should all read a book written in 2006 by author Harold Evans and hang their heads in shame for the present situation and the appalling state of our military! It is also possible that in order to decrease the problems facing him Ahmadinejad may instigate a situation where outside forces are seen to be threatening Iran in the hope that he can unite the country under the flag of patriotism.
